What is insurance advice?
Our insurance advice is not sales talk. It’s your union that owns us and our job is to guide you to the right insurance. We also negotiate with the insurance companies to give you and your colleagues the best insurance solutions. When you talk to us, it’s your needs that decide.
How does a counseling meeting work?
During our conversation we look at your overall situation, and consider the protection you already have from your employer, your unemployment insurance fund, your union and society as a whole. We go through your financial situation and your dependents. You should have a good level of protection but not be over-insured.
A meeting usually lasts 30 minutes, but it depends on how many questions you have and how well-informed you are to start with.
Our insurance brokers don’t receive any commission and they also have a duty to help you make the right choice for you. We want you to get the maximum benefit possible from your insurance but never to pay for more than you need.
When should you book a meeting with an advisor?
We’re there to help you when something has gone wrong. But it’s before that happens that we can really help. A good rule of thumb is to review your insurance situation whenever your life changes in some way: if you’re expecting a baby, have taken out a bigger loan, started a new relationship or taken a step up the career ladder. And even if your life just rolls along as usual you should still look over your insurance policies once every other year or so.
If you have your insurance policy handy, it’s a good idea to have in front of you during the meeting.
