What’s included
This insurance is included in your membership with your trade union, and the care provided through the insurance focuses on giving you advice and tools to help you feel better.
Through this insurance, you can receive up to 6 free treatment sessions with a licensed psychologist or psychotherapist within Skandia's network if you are at risk of reduced work capacity or illness due to mental health issues. Each session typically lasts 30 minutes, conducted via chat or a secure video platform. You can use the insurance again if you’ve been treatment-free for 12 consecutive months since your last session.

As a first step, you’ll answer questions about how you're feeling, and a nurse at Sophiahemmet Rehab Center will assess your responses to determine if you would benefit from seeing a psychologist or psychotherapist. It's better to make that first contact and let a professional assess – it’s completely free.
How to use the insurance
For your first time using the insurance, follow these steps:
- Start your case by logging into Hälsoslussen using your BankID.
- Answer a few questions about how you're feeling. These questions will be asked in Swedish, but any further assistance you receive through the insurance can be provided in English, if you prefer.
- You can now book an appointment with a nurse. The meeting takes place digitally via chat and lasts about 10 minutes. Hälsoslussen is staffed on weekdays between 8 AM and 3 PM. If you start your case outside these hours, you can book an appointment with the nurse once Hälsoslussen is open.
- The nurse will assess your care needs, and you will receive a booking ticket that allows you to schedule an appointment with a psychologist or psychotherapist.
- Book your appointment with a psychologist or psychotherapist. At the beginning of the session, you may be asked to answer additional questions about how you're feeling. These are called rating questions and help the psychologist or psychotherapist make a medical assessment. After that, the conversation will begin as a chat, with the option to switch to a video call.
- If it is determined that you need additional sessions, you will receive a new booking ticket after the meeting, allowing you to schedule another appointment with your psychologist or psychotherapist.
If you need to reschedule, you should always book a new time. Canceling an appointment means you’ll need to repeat the entire process to receive a new booking voucher.
